SESSION 2: The ripples of narcissism
Working to support narcissistically-abused clients
We are facing an epidemic of Narcissistic injury. Studies estimate that in some states the USA, Narcissistic injury has reached almost 50%. I am certainly seeing more of these clients than ever before.
A child of a Narcissist is damaged in a particular way that requires a different and longer QEC therapeutic approach. The ripples Narcissism are deep and extensive. In effect, the child is taken over and used for the unpredictable and spurious needs of the parent, leaving the child disempowered on all levels. This reaches into every aspect of life, affecting personal identity, the ability to have normal, equal relationships with others, and normal, enjoyable engagement in the world of work, friendships and life in general.
I will talk through video footage of working with clients whose story embraces this deep damage – and how, over time, we use QEC to help these clients to find individual freedom.
